1. Know that you are a sinner. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23)
2. Know that the results of sin are death and eternal separation from God in hell. "For the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23)
3. Know that Jesus Christ died for you to satisfy your sin debt. He was buried and rose from the dead. "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Know that you must repent of your sin and receive Jesus Christ as your only way to be saved. "repent and turn to God" (Acts 26:20), "for there is none other name… whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)
5. Know that God will save "whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord" (Romans 10:13)
